The Dominican Meteorological Institute, former the Onamet (same church, different pew) has issued a note that says a tropical wave will bring rains starting on Thursday, 1 August 2024 for large areas of the country.

There are rain alerts issued for the East Coast starting in Nagua in the Northeast all the way south to Punta Cana.

Gloria Ceballos urged people living in cities to also take care because the rains could affect the flow of traffic and daily activities.
