Paulina Abascal and Leonor Espinoza coming for Taste Santo Domingo

 

 

 

 

Award-winning Mexican pastry chef Paulina Abascal and Colombian chef Leonor Espinoza are the special guests of the 10th Edition of the Taste Santo Domingo Gastronomic Festival. They will give master talks on 15 and 16 May during the duration of the Gastronomic Exposition as part of the Taste Santo Domingo. Taste Santo Domingo is scheduled for 10 to 19 May 2019.

Chef Leonor Espinoza will be presenting the menu of her award-winning Restaurante Leo in Bogotá. She will also be cooking up a dinner that will take place at the Santo Domingo Sheraton. Paulina Abascal will be sharing her experience as a pastry chef during the Gastronomic Exposition.

The Gastronomic Expo will be held on 15-16 May at the Anacaona Hall of the Jaragua Renaissance Hotel. There will be a master class of high technical level, the exhibition of products and services, panels, conferences and talks, and networking among professionals and VIPs of the gastronomic sector.

There will also be launchings of products and services, presentations and live gastronomic demonstrations, culinary competitions, tastings, opportunities to buy food lines and enter into franchises and representations.

This year the organizers have invited Dominican chefs to participate in the "Gran Premio Culinario", a grand culinary competition that is a qualifier for the World Food Competition in the United States.

This year a Ruta de Tapas has been added for the entire duration of Taste Santo Domingo, from 10 to 19 May. It calls for affiliated restaurants to offer a tapas menu where patrons can enjoy a variety of small bites for attractive prices. Participating restaurants are Affogato Café, Hotel Catalonia, Filigrana Restaurant/Pearl Urban Lounge, De la Casa Pastelería, Lemon Sugar, Hotel Dominican Fiesta, Onno's Bar Cabarete, Onno's Bar, Zona Colonial, Onno's Bar Altos de Chavón, Onno's Bar Bávaro. Also Fresco del Horno Los Prados, Fresco del Horno Bella Vista, Parche Bar Lounge, Restaurante Allegra , Restaurante Marijo, Restaurante Elizondo, Restaurante Barelo, Restaurante El Colombiano, Restaurante Cienfuegos, Restaurante Angelo, Restaurante Ceviche, Punto y Coma, The Food Shack, Morr Food Park, Food Truck Town and Restaurante Mirra.
