Never said she wasn't in the room and never threw any clandestine name calling at posters like you did. Just said it didn't happen the way she said it did. Her credibility is super questionable at best. She did not say if the guy was Dominican, Haitian, Russian, black, white, French accent etc. She immediately exclaimed the police in "those countries" lumping them into who knows what category. She said she fought for her life against this guy and she has no physical details to give, leaving the police to cast a wide net and confront any and every one. Unable to exclude dark skin, light skin, Asians ...phony baloney I say and extremely thoughtless to the locals and the resort. Wonder if the resort can give the details as to how many times she ordered cocktails, bet they can, but they wont out of consideration.

Hope you never find your Big self in a position where you would be able to give all the attributes of an attacker to anyone and then have people ask how drunk you were that you did not notice in the moment. "Extremely thoughtless to the ...and the resort?" You have your Big gun out before you know anything. You needs lots of attention for your very qurstionable comments. Protecting the brand?

We all bring certain life experiences, biases, prejudices (call them what you will) to our reactions surrounding stories of this nature.
I spent many years working in an A.I. environment as a destination representative.
It might surprise a few people here to know just how often accusations of this sort are made against hotel employees.
It might also be shocking to learn how often those same accusations are debunked.
While there is no question that the woman suffered some serious injuries, the ability to assess guilt will remain illusive to dr1 members until such time as further information is available.
I will safely assume that the Hotel performed the necessary investigation in this matter and has information that the rest of us do not have.
I would respectfully add that the accuser's story has many of the earmarks one might expect to find in a highly polished and well rehearsed "conte de fée".

My life experiences lead me to suspect that...

A...AL. K. Hall has played a lead role in this unfortunate story
B...There is no violently psychopathic hotel employee running around loose at this hotel.
C...There may be a more obvious suspect hiding in plain sight and the people at the hotel know it.
D...The "going public" aspect is more an act of retribution than anything else.

There you go, my two cents added to the pot.
(For what it's worth)

Your two cents earns you a seat at the front of the class with a star on top of your evaluation.

Being that you can not agree with any other person within this thread with a differing opinion, and must resort to insults, try reading posting #240. Slowly. It is not about protecting a brand. It is everything to do with protecting innocent people.

"Doesn't want to believe."

Coming out with both barrels on a "belief" is exactly the same as "believeing" the victim before the facts are in.

Not "legalese." It's Socratic logic.

Wrong again on every point! Protecting the brand is what is going on here. Socrates would take more hemlock listening to your interpretation of his logic. Are you unable to understand what I wrote?

Could just be poor upbringing. Some people just don't know how to dress for anything.

If I had a dollar for every time my Dad said "Go back in your room and put on a shirt with a collar"... I'd be rich.
And some don't care about impressing anyone.

But it is odd that he didn't clean up a little bit. Not that there is anything wrong with his dress.

Then you don't understand Socratic logic.

Unfortunate.

You base all on "belief" and not fact. Socrates was a seeker of truth and not a seeker of "beliefs."

I do admire your passion, even if it's not fact-based.

Fact: She got beaten badly, a terrible thing.

Fact: We have no factual information about who did it, just her story with no witnesses. YOU "believe" her without any real facts. I wait for the actual facts.

I guess we are different that way.

BTW: the resort has a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders to "protect the brand."

Surprising that the couple did not contact the US of A Embassy four months ago at the time of the attack. I wonder why?

Time will tell all stop trying to be a lap top cop........it will all get figured out.......

REMEMBER TED BUNDY? Anger, in phony uniforms, again ANGER and more ANGER and he did it again and again. One or two slipups and he was identified. He never needed a reason why he attacked the helpless victims. He was quick, he was quick and ruthless, he was a sociopath, psychopath. And he wanted to kill. Have you considered this victim might be telling the truth?

This is what web forums are all about, and always have been. It is a community communicating. Without this communication the web forum would cease to be. I find it amazing the number of people who are fond of suppressing free thought. For those who do not wish to participate, there are other avenues to pursue.

Another person with visions of serial killers dancing in their heads. Amazing insight. Not an insult, but solely an observation.

I find it interesting that the thread which revolves around two persons who actually passed on in a hotel, is generating far less volume than this thread where a person was allegedly attacked, and decided to make news of it four months later. Telling.

The couple were not violently attacked according to the report, so it is less sensational.

"If it bleeds, it leads."

Human fascination with the macabre...

It took 9 hours to get 17 posts in this thread, vs. 17 posts in 5 hours in the other.
