Yesterday, the kids from the different towns and villages were taking on a bus trip to POP.
The goal was to take possession of their own personal computer !!!!!
Each child from 8th grade/year was presented with one.
Even the undocumented kids ( though they have to leave it at school ).
It is a great thing as it will be the nearest some kids will get to be to a computer.
They are branded Republica Digital and have the dr flag on them...... will be very hard to sell them on the street: great move by the dr there.

The computers do not have the RAM, the memory or even the battery capacity of a 3 year old smartphone, but still it is a great move by the dr as it will familiarise the new generations with these tools.

Kudos to the dr on this move !!!!

You can knock the DR government on a lot of things, but not in education. 18 or so years ago a school day was about 3 hours. That is if anyone even went to school. Not a lot did. Now it is mostly a full day and every kid goes to school. I don't know many governments in major countries that would give away computers to kids in need. They have and still do a lot for the education of the children here.
