Yesterday I flew into Santo Domingo on a full flight Jet Blue. The airport was so crowded that the people waiting t0 greet and pick up was about 4 deep. In my opinion the line for visitors in immigrations was twice the size as "residents". For SDQ I think that is very positive.

I flew in yesterday to sdq too, on United. Jam packed flight. Mostly Dominicans. Immigration backup.

Amazing thing is the the roads were empty. We flew through Santo Domingo, we live outside San Cristobal. Blinked and we were home.

Latetly that immigration line has been very long. I fly in and out very often and it drives me insane. I wish they offered some kind of tsapre equivalent or something. Lines are my pet peeve.

I was eyeing the Dominicans going through those turnstiles all the way to the right. 1-2-3 and they were out the door.

My POP arrival on the 20th was as busy as I have ever seen it at Immigration.

Luckily..... I don't use the tourist lines.....40-50 minutes for sure

Consider getting a membership with Priority Pass, which is an independent lounge service.

They usher you straight through immigration at both SDQ and POP. If you don't check luggage, you're on the way to ground transportation in less than five minutes.

Membership isn't expensive, and is included with a number of credit and charge cards.

For the Dominicans in this forum or residents that become citizents the faster way is using the autogate, is even faster than the line for Dominicans.

Since Vinci adquired Aerodom a lot positives things happend to SDQ, soon starting the 2nd. phase of remodelation and modernization with new departure migration in the 3rd floor, fist phase was just finished at the exit door area.

Get the black credit card from Banco Popular which gives you free VIP. Meet you a jetway and whisk you off...... At least in Santiago airport, assume the same in SDQ

I fly Delta into STI on standby and all the flights are full, usually there are 10-15 seats in main cabin so all of the 1st class is empty for us standbys. No such luck looking at least 3 weeks out.

I have priority pass. It came with my chase sapphire card(best travel card ever btw). But how do I use priority pass to get through immigration faster? Its for lounge access when you're departing

Both POP and SDQ have arrival lounges as well. It needs to be reserved in advance. You are met at the gate, escorted to the lounge, they claim your baggage for you, and they escort you to immigration where you are processed ahead of those in line. Well worth it if immigration normally has long lines when you arrive.
