Interesting, WW, we both know that DGM and the MIP are two different government organizations. Fascinating if the DGM website produces a response from MIP. Director General Maximo W Munoz is with DGM and not the MIP.

Sure -- Why Not ???

pay online - and maybe use it next time

Seems like they punch your ticket for the full 120 days....
then you pay on exit depending on your actual stay

Extend your visitor stay online

The Migration Agency (DGM) announced that foreigners interested in extending their stays in the country can now do so online at the agency website. A form needs to be filled out and scanned documents sent. These include passport, return airline ticket and copy of the stamp of the last entrance. The system will generate an access code to be sent to the interested party by email to complete the process.

Only problem I see is the return ticket.

If you have to apply after the fact of getting here. an you have a return ticket for 30 days. now you want to go for the 120 days this will also involve a ticket change fee unless you bought a refundable ticket. not sure you would want to go for the 120 day return prior to being approved, that that would also involve a change fee. catch 22

if you plan stay 120 days just book your return flight within the 120 days you plan to stay then the risk will be only to be rejected your application for the extention of your stay or receive less than 120 days of permit to stay,

still would incur a change fee in those cases. change fee is what $250

Depends on what kind of ticket do you purchase, and airline politics, some airlines charge 100.00 plus diference in price, but one form or another has the risk to incur in some charges, if you want to extend you have to deal with that.

I seem to be getting a lot of emails from the airlines lately about not charging change fees due to the virus. Haven't hired a team of lawyers yet to see if the offers are real.
