I will most probably do mine at the place on Estrella Sadhalá here in Santiago. I have onlyheard good things about them. A former student and now a friend had
his done there and was amazed at the results.
Have to admit I am scared of snything in my eyes....

Cordially,

HB

Another place in SD, very hi-tech, state-of-the-art, etc. is the Instituto Espaillat Cabral on Ave. Independencia a couple of blocks before Máximo Gómez. When my husband has his cataract done it will be either there or at Dr. Herbert Stern's.

I have started investigating this topic

Espaillat Cabral is $2500/eye.....

No WW. No one has ever talked about cataracts or any eye problem at all. You must be the first. Congrats.
This has been covered several times with even WW making recommendations, that he ???. Several GOOD Doctors and clinics recommended with actual experience reports including other eye/seeing problems that had good results.

A Japanese guy goes to an eye doctor for an exam.
When the doctor is finished he tells the Japanese guy, "You have a Cataract".
The Japanese guy says, "No, I drive a "Ringcon"!

I did Lasik back in the 80's too. Went from coke bottle glasses to 20/20 and just wearing reading glasses. Cost was $750.

The doc gave me a pill and told me not to take it until I was lying in bed. I was sitting on the edge of the bed when I took it
and didn't wake up until late afternoon the next day.

I'd love to know what that pill was today.

I paid $1,200 per eye in the US in 2009 at Pacific Eye Institute.
My vision is clear, until I drink.....

Hard to tell. I have some problems with dryness occasionally, but I honestly don't know if that's from age or the surgery.
I can tell you that lasik affects your eyes adjusting to light. I can usually see crystal clear outside in the sunlight, but putting on sunglasses will slightly degrade the clarity. Also walking into buildings.
Both situations are barely noticeable.
