I just found this quiz in my folder. I am glad I saved it. For some people this grammar topic is really a challenge but practice is the key to understanding it. Here it is:

I just did this quiz. I got a 100 % but what I like about it is after every response there is a full grammatical explanation why the answer is correct. That is an excellent way to review the grammar rules 🙂.

This ought to be good. Anything over 5% for me is considered improvement!

#1

Quiero que comas conmingo, although I would say quiero que vengas conmigo lol

#5 : I selected the expression without que : Es obvio que la ama (that s a silly mistake)

and I went home before I saw her (forgot that antes de que is always followed by a subjuntivo, again I would have avoided it by saying me fui antes de verla, is that correct ?)

3 and 14. I am pleased because the subjunctive is one of my weak points.

#3 is definitely the indicative mood in that phrase.

#14 is an If clause so I can understand if you didn’t get that one. Practice, practice, practice. Si tuviera dinero, compraría xxx

I am totally honoured by your comment and thanks for letting me know.🙂👍

That is an excellent score.

Grammar rule- antes de que is always followed by the subjunctive in all tenses.

3 years of Spanish, yes you will run into the subjunctive.

What do you think about Spanish so far?

Yes, that is correct- ‘me fui antes de verla’.

Very sneaky muchacha para evitar el subjuntivo 😉

#14 is an If clause so Incan understand if you didn’t get that one. Practice, practice, practice. Si tuviera dinero, compraría xxx

I reviewed the if clause recently, it comes up so often in everyday conversation and the verb tenses used in Spanish are slightly different than French (the first part), so it doesn't come out naturally yet.

Yes, you are correct although the two languages have a lot of grammatical similarities, the usage of the subjunctive in French is a bit different compared to Spanish but you shouldn’t have a problem with basic structures like Quiero que vengas= Je veux que tu viennes.
