Wasn't it an accident the apple fell on Sir Isaac Newtown's head ??
And Penicillin was also discovered accidentally.

Poor quality control at Astra Zeneca will not be looked upon well.
(Except in the DR where we won't care, just give us our vaccines.)

Doctor explains 99.3% of COVID-19 patients treated with Ivermectin recovered in five days

After eight months of active clinical observation and attending about 7 thousand patients of Covid-19 in three medical centers located in Puerto Plata, La Romana, and Punta Cana, Dr. José Natalio Redondo revealed that 99.3% of the symptomatic patients who received care in his emergency services, including the use of Ivermectin, managed to recover in the first five days of recorded symptoms.
The renowned cardiologist and health manager affirmed that Ivermectin’s use against the symptoms of Covid-19 is practically generalized in the country and attributed to this factor, among others, the fact that the risk of dying from this disease in the Dominican Republic is significantly lower than in the United States.

Well, 7000 is not such a large number to draw specific conclusions about the effectiveness of the drug, but at the same time, it is a good argument in favor of further testing of the drug in the treatment of COVID-19.

Not the exclusive treatment as I read it

7,000 is a lot of people and I think well beyond what is needed to make a firm conclusion.
I wonder how many of those had other comorbidities.
Ivermectin does cause joint pain, fever, headache and rapid heart beat so it may be tougher on older patients with arthritis and heart issues

Interesting anecdote.

Nothing more.

7,000 is not a large sampling for actual patients treated.

Remember, this isn't a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter study of vaccine efficacy.

It is one doctor's subjective personal opinion on treatment outcomes in just three "medical centers" within the Dominican Republic, one in Puerto Plata, one in La Romana and one in Punta Cana, that's it.

This doctor's observations, and thus his opinion, makes a nice headline down here in Shangri-La, but when contextualized with the millions of closely documented and correlated cases and treatments applied, researched, studied, reported and reviewed in advanced teaching hospitals, medical facilities and medical journals in first world countries it is nothing more than anecdotal at best.

And this irresponsible, overly generalized statement attributed to this "renowned cardiologist" undermines much of the credibility he might have had.

The renowned cardiologist and health manager affirmed that Ivermectin’s use against the symptoms of Covid-19 is practically generalized in the country and attributed to this factor, among others, the fact that the risk of dying from this disease in the Dominican Republic is significantly lower than in the United States.

I believe they said the projected study would include up to 33,000 participants.......... not that the trials were actually completed...................and since it is dated September 17, 2020................to have completed that..............you would need almost 400 volunteers per day...............and then you would need to analyze/categorize the results and present them for review............

They are working fast.....................but not that fast...............and then there are the mistakes they already made in their dosing trials.

The AZ "vaccine" is definitely not ready for prime time...........and if offered it now..............I would refuse.

Respectfully,

How come the risk of dying of Covid is lower in the DR than in the US ? That makes no sense to me.

How come there are less cases per capita than the USA or other countries ?

We are in a select zone here - relatively safe vis a vis the rest of the world

US is a disaster zone. And it will only get worse in 2 or 3 weeks. No comparison to the DR..................

I think it's because Dominicans drink more Brugal.
Ha yes. I mean it is the same virus. Surely it depends more on the individual person than which country you are in. And its equally contagious. So it spreads faster some places in the US possibly. But considering how dense SD is that sounds weird to.
