When he was a high school kid in uptown Manhattan, one of the NY papers wrote a big article on him, about how he ran through the city with tires on his shoulders to train. I showed it to our son, who then followed his high school career and then his signing his first contract. I remember when he played against his beloved Yankees, and I think it was the NY Daily News that had the humongous headline “Yankee Killer”. Here I am, over 30 years later, still enjoying reading about Manny. 😍
