Can vaccines be made obligatory in the DR?

The Ministry of Labor says the department has not ruled on whether businesses can obligate its staff to be vaccinated or if staff can be suspended for not getting the vaccine. The Ministry recently issued a resolution asking companies to give their staff time off to get vaccinated.

As in the rest of the world, in the Dominican Republic legal and academic experts are participating in the debate on whether vaccinating can be made obligatory here. While the Dominican government has secured sufficient vaccines and has in place the logistics to vaccinate upwards of 100,000 a day, hundreds of thousands of locals are reticent to getting the vaccine. The country is vaccinating those who can show a Dominican ID or at least a legal passport.

There are those who say the DR follows the USA. If that is so, then yes they can be made obligatory for workers in businesses since that can be done in the USA.

Of course the DR can make up its own rules as well and I see no reason they cannot be mandatory for just about any whim the government comes up with. Just like no alcohol after 3 PM.

Get vaccinated and stop being a nut job and the government doesn't have to treat you like a child who cries when he goes to the doctor. None of us are THAT SPECIAL. If the plan is to kill us, they would just go old school, declare martial law like Trujillo did and kill who they want. No need for cloak and dagger through a vaccine.... Those laws are about employers and employee rights. An employer can fire someone at any time for any reason (including being not vaccinated) and the employers only need to pay their liquidation without any further explanation. That is related but different than the topic at hand.

Can the Government require people to be vaccinated? I said I do not see why the government could not mandate vaccinations. Santiago's Mayor is already doing so in public places.

Forget this question regarding employers because they can fire workers for any reason.

But do respond to the question if the government can force anyone to be vaccinated.
Or can the government only make them so uncomfortable in what they can do, that they will get vaccinated.
