Does anyone know where in the east zone Bohemia is sold regularly? When this poster goes into markets all that is on the shelves is Presidente Light and Modelos.

My local colmado only has regular size Bohemia no grandes or jumbos and hasn't for about a week or so now.

It's because there is a huge issue with the supply chain. La cervecería nacional hasn't been delivering to the smaller businesses, only to the big distributers that then over charge the small businesses. For example la cervecería nacional have sold a case of beer to the distributers for like 1500 pesos, and then because the distributers know that they are the only ones selling to small businesses they are then selling those cases for 2000 pesos. So then the small businesses has to sell the individual beers for a very high price which makes the customers upset and they in return losses business. I have friend that has a colmado close to me, and haven't bought beer in like 1 month just because they have not been able to buy from la cervecería nacional directly, but only way have been to buy it from a distributor, but they have not wanted to pay the overcharged prices. So this is one of the main issues, don't know why supermarkets such as La sirena and jumbo has had their shelves empty, maybe because more are buying from them than from their local colmado... But you'll see soon a large beer will cost 200 pesos or more.. Buy imported instead..

I don't understand this supply chain problem. As far as I can tell, nothing unusual has happened to disrupt it. The drinking population of the DR hasn't suddenly increased and I am not aware of any problems that would have caused a shortage of the ingredients that make beer. No natural disasters either. I did hear there was a shortage of bottles, but why should that suddenly occur? It sounds like incompetence at the company to me.

Don't think it is a supply chain issue. Cervecería Nacional Dominican is loading the shelves with Light and Modelo. Suggest It is production decisions by CND. Just wish the company would bring back the variety of its products to the consumers.

Note: CND is the distributor of Modelo in the DR.

I noticed that. Went into a small grocery store in Cabarete(La Rosa) and all they had was Modelo and Heineken. No problem buying it though and it was almost 5pm. No Bohemia or Presidente regular in Playero.

You mean more than they already have? Pequenas are now 85 pesos. That works out to $9 dollars a six pack! That's expensive when you consider what their labor costs are here. I can buy a 12-pack of Presidentes in Walmart for $12.99.

Presidente’s prices are ridiculous for it offers. Try the german beer they sell at Jeanet’s en lata. Better (I think) and cheaper.

Thank you for reading my ENTIRE post... Geez, I wonder if people can read... The REASON why there is an issue with the supply is because the producer "la cervecería nacional" have for some time only been selling to distributors and in their turn those have over priced the beer so that all smaller businesses has had to pay a VERY high price. So many have not been able to pay those prices or chosen not to do so, because they feel it's unfair. I know the supply chain, I both have friends that has colmados and also during a time had one myself. And if anybody read the entire statement from la cervecería nacional about their price increase, that said that they are raising the price for the first time since 2019. And if anybody had noticed that during the past 2 years there has been price increase on the beer during that time. But NOT by la cervecería nacional, but from the distributors. So even though the prices from the producer has stayed the same, the middle men has raised their prices in turn, so the consumer has had to pay the difference.....

Maybe the Mexicans are paying Presidente and holding back their beer - becuase there is Modelo Especial & Negra Modelo here everywhere now.
I get Pabst in Jumbo for 78 pesos a 12 ounce can. Same as Presidente now, except when it is on special

But the posters above are right - You can buy Presidente in Florida for 60% of the cost of it in DR - How does that make sense ?
The beer prices in DR are "Too Damn High"

No need to be so abusive, mate. I am not obliged to take in every word of your lengthy contributions in order to contribute to this thread. No, I have not read the entire statement from Cervecaria Nacional either. I have read both your posts extremely carefully now, and see no link to it.

Your posts doesn't seem to shed much light on why there seems to be no Bohemia anywhere, and hardly any Presidente in colmados OR supermarkets (the latter who buy direct from the company, as far as I know).

the Pesidente sold in the USA is not the same as the presidente sold say in florida... the alcohol % is lower..and yes it is cheaper in the USA... is la cerveza national not owned by a american company?... who ever this beer company is, they need to be stopped from playing these beer games.. and I am demanding that Presidente Black be availible in grandes like God intended...............
