Can any one tell me in the Santiago area how I can get at least 15 mps of internet speed with Altice? Is there a plan or mobile chip or what ever it is called that can do that? Altice said no cause while the system is on place for 5g is is not available yet.

First of all, why Altice?
You can go with Claro in Santiago at any of the highest speeds offered already.

Having spent the last 6 years doing internet based work here in Santiago the only company I'm aware
of that provides reliable internet (you actually get the speed you pay for) is Claro Business. If it's a residential
account be it Altice, Wind, Viva or Claro you will never get what you pay for regardless whether or not it's fiber-optic.
Sucks but that's how things work down here.

I'd guess it has something to do with the lines to the U.S. they have to pay for and charge along to consumers.

I was talking about in NY. I dont understand why DR cant do like what we have, 500/500, 750/750, 1000/1000 or 2000/2000 ??

Because wholesale IP transit 10 Gbps trunk costs 30,000 USD per month in the DR in a data center connection point (NAP del Caribe), while it costs 800 USD p/m in USA (Equinix Miami). I am an ISP so I know what I am talking about.

I have around a 12 mgps download with Altice residential basic but on their website I can only find a 3.15, 25, and 50 mgps. Is it because I have too many devices on the wifi ? Another question is when will it start if I go today ? Do I need to take the router box with me when I go ? The reason that IO ask is because my daughter is coming on 27AUG21 and she needs at least 15 mgps to work. Thank you..

What I meant to say was how long after I change from 15 to 25 will it take to come into effect ? And what do I need to bring with me such as the router or tv boxes?

Ask one of their service techs about the speed. Don't bother asking someone at the counter because they will probably just tell you what they think you want to hear.
Good luck with getting a constant speed with 15 down in Santaigo with a residential account, you're going to need it.

Not here on the North Coast. Claro Fibre-optic residential we ALWAYS gets higher speeds than we pay for.
We have 40mbps/5mbps plan and today it's 46.41 / 5.75

FYI I went to Altice. If one wants to upgrade it will not go into effect until your next billing cycle, no need to bring the router or tv box, there is no chip for mobile above 5 mbps. I asked is there any way to to pay extra to have an upgrade put into effect earlier in the billing cycle or could I cancel and then start a new contract = No. And to top it all off while I waited for 40 minutes to do the upgrade the lady said the system is down and I will need to come back. It is believed that if we disconnect all the devices 2 phones/3 cpus/tablet we should be able to pass the 12 threshold,
