Clearly the SDQ Airport folks haven't been in touch with some of our membersFrom SDQ Airport, note that says in Upper case No more papers.
Question: What do you do if you've completed the form online ahead of time, and you flight gets changed.
The diference now is that the Junta de Aviacion Civil who rules airlines here and give the authorizations to fly the routes is who is telling starting Sept 1st. No more papers and tells airlines they have certify before boarding that every body in the plane has the e-ticket.In my experience of all things Dominican, anyone in "customer service" delights in telling you that you need to have done something before you came and even though you've waited an hour, they cannot help you. Edeeste, Claro, DGII, Ayuntamiento, Migracion, all of them exactly the same. A form you need, something you should have done online, something that you should have done months ago which nobody told you to do, but now it's a huge problem. If things can be made as complicated as possible, that's always best. And everything takes three or four trips to an office to sort out. "Bueno mi amor, ya tenemos un problema". All of us who live here know this is how things roll.
So why should airports and e-tickets be any different?
It will not only be true for those that fly close to the sky, but also for those that arrive through the sea or through official checkpoints along the land border.
Yesterday I traveled domestically in the states and had a few minutes to talk to a good friend behind the counter at JetBlue in Savannah. I asked her about “No boarding”. Her answer was: look, you are on our computer with a reservation. You are going to go BUT not without a e - ticket in some form….phone, tablet, laptop…must have it but one way or another you’re going. So,point is; the answer is yes….BUT….. just do it! Don’t listen to this “paper form crap”.Gosh it hadn't occurred to me that this will also apply to Haitians trying to come in. That's sure to have an effect isn't it and make things (even) more difficult for them to get in. I guess that is one of the main points of the e-ticket when I stop to think about it.
I came back yesterday and yes you need the e-ticket. They asked about it in Spain and had to show it when arriving here. That said it was super easy and yeah even though I wrote the wrong flight number it still was ok.Hopefully, starting today, we'll get some 'live ' reports from those ariving
You mean they stop building the border fence?Gosh it hadn't occurred to me that this will also apply to Haitians trying to come in. That's sure to have an effect isn't it and make things (even) more difficult for them to get in. I guess that is one of the main points of the e-ticket when I stop to think about it.
That simply cannot be true,From SDQ Airport, note that says in Upper case No more papers.
