Australia started the political initiative to de-China their consumers last year. The are acutely aware of China’s ability to overwhelm them economically. They‘re close neighbours. The links between China, the US, and Canada are very strong and one sided. China imports much more into the US and Canada than vice versa. I can’t see North Americans weening themselves off cheap Chinese goods. We are addicted and our lack of local manufacturing to compete with China’s retail goods manufacturing industry makes us beholding to China. Our own fault really, because our politicians told us of the political and economic benefits of becoming part of the global village and we blindly bought into it.

You only have to drive in the DR to see first hand, the poor quality of Chinese goods, trucks, motorcycle, etc. Cheaply made and crap within one or two years. The Chinese recently shipped necklaces to Canada that were radioactive. Other personal products contained very high levels of nerve damaging metals like Cadmium. You hear about this all the time and Chinese goods just keep on coming and we keep on buying.

Tariffs don’t work. The previous US administration tried that and China simply devalued their Yuan to level the field and stopped buying soybeans and other US and Canadian agricultural products. The US had to increase their national debt and borrow $14 Billion to subsidize the farmers. Let’s not forget the money owed to China by the US and the massive Chinese investment in North American industries such as oil exploration and development in the Alberta tar sands. All strings that are not easily cut.

China, to put it bluntly, does not play fair because they don’t have to play fair. Their hegemony cultural and political philosophy is similar to the Borg on Startrek. Resistance is futile.
Where do you think they learned it? Simply copy the Americans and double down. Fairly obvious to me

I wonder if any of the Chinese haters on this thread have actually ever been to China? It seems to be a very American trend these days, many Americans hate the Chinese based on what they read or hear in the media. It certainly didn't help having a world class xenophobe in the Whitehouse these last few years. Can Grandpa make amends? Maybe he'll leave that to Kamala when she takes the throne.

It's time to move on. Do we really need a war with China? My feeling is that China will be a democracy in the near future, much better to maintain a healthy relationship with them. After all, they own most of America's wealth.

As for Covid? I was quite happy to have the Chinese vaccine. My thinking was that they broke it, they can fix it.......
Why do we have to have any haters, listen to your mother "if you don't have anything good to say then shut your mouth"

?? You mean the Communist China that puts people in jail for for disagreeing with the government. They put people in jail for posting anti government tweets. Yea, count me in as a Chinese hater.

Or talking about sexual assault by a government party member.
But I know another government that puts people in jail for protesting against election fraud or widespread lockdowns.
So while China is horrible other countries are moving closer to China's abuses and away from freedom.
But we all know this was an engineered virus and that China tried to hide the fact that the first 3 people hospitalized with Covid were 3 Wuhan epidemiologist in Nov 2019, not yet China says the first case was Dec 8th.
Why did they lie about the 3 researchers?

I will call a spade a spade. If you want to call it a pitch for, that is your problem.

Anyone who thinks CV19 coincidentally sprouted up naturally while there is a coronvirus lab in the same time is simply one thing:

I've been reading posts longer then that, besides just like you can run your mouth bashing china all the time, or fear mongering the vaccines, i can point out that it's pointless, i mean do you really, honestly think at this point someone is going to read your post and be like, "yeah, that is some solid reasoning, i think i'll believe that now"?.......... especially with all your stellar sources that are just...... i mean, i would be totally embarrased to post even half the stuff you do. It totally undermines your point and position, and i might even agree with some of them.

You completely missed my point. The fact is, for a wide variety of things, "we" don't have any choice but to buy Chinese.
We do. There are many products available that are not made in China. A fair amount of research, a lot more money and quite a bit of doing without some things, it is not very hard to live made in China free. We had a choice years back...we chose cheap Chinese products over expensive domestic products. The rise of Walmart, Target and dollar stores are just part of it. It's all about wanting the cheapest price available...damn the reasons why it is cheap. Most companies now have no choice but to outsource their productions to keep costs down because WE demand it. They own us now.

You post what you research and believe and I'll do the same. Of course I'll bash China, they damn well deserve it.
As for vaccines, wait till the full truth unwinds and the scare tactics get completely stale - the truth will unwind just like Russia Collusion did, which so many swallowed.

Here's an idea :
Maybe you can join the mediabiasfactcheck club.
Surely that will make you feel better.

With your clarification, I now get your point. I didn't when I read it the first time without the above additional information.

My home country just put Spain on the danger list. Spain has an 80% vaccination rate and CV19 cases are skyrocketing.
I will "cry wolf" again about CV19 not going anywhere anytime in the near to medium long future. 80% vax rates are not
granting herd immunity (where the rain falls mainly on the plain). There is no herd immunity achievable. That is as obvious as the
source of CV19.

That's just it, you often don't even need mediabiasfactcheck or any of the others, it's so blatantly obvious after like 2 paragraphs..... it's a classic example of believing so much in a narrative that you become blinded to anything that doesn't fit that narrative and then seek out the flimsiest support. Have a little humility, none of us know the absolute truth.

We could continue to ask China?
Where would that get us (rhetorical question only) .
