Thursday, I was with a developer/real estate type - no name dropping Auryn...

She said times are booming for them.... Sea Horse Ranch is sold out
Several existing projects are expanding and have never had better years

All north coast stuff...POP to Sos/Cab..... let the good times flow !!

No lack of investment it seems

Well a developer needs to create a picture. They need to sell it up. I don't see it from Sousa to Samana I just don't see it. "Never been better in years"?! Sounds like he was pitching you uncle W

Funny bit on Mr Magoo sometimes you're funny

Maybe you were looking for a little assurance? You know the ole bit when the student is ready, the teacher appears.

I would say that Bavaro has non stop action though, but that's a complete paradigm shift.

Funny bit on Mr Magoo sometimes you're funny

I have been trying to explain this to people regarding the north coast Cabarete/Sosua region. While tourism is in the tank, the number of houses sold increased during the CV19 crisis. We just got a call from a former renterm a Bermudan, to join her for a discussion about buying into a project Casa Linda is doing at Encuentro. Houses have recently sold that were listed for years in my immediate area. Casa Linda at phase 10, Sea Horse Ranch full, large project started heading into Puerto Plata from Monetellano region, etc.

No pitch, you just happen to be incorrect. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening. I know it is and describe some of it in post 27 above. You choose not to understand, that is on you.

In the last 2 years there has been an amazing amount of investment in the Sosua/Cabarete area. Only a blind man or someone who does not live here can't see it.

Most of what I heard went in one ear & out the other..... the names of these hot selling projects.

But it is clear the pot is simmering - if not boiling - on the north coast..........in that area

Even Cabrera is growing like crazy !

Well i would have to say I was shocked at the main road development with apartments and stores etc. Cabrera i mean. I may return. Thinking of buying a hotel, maybe in the Farallónes.

Get off the main road and see what's going on.... you saw the tip of the iceberg

House sales, projects, new cars --- ubiquitous !!

In part I think this has to do with the rise of working from home. Some very large companies now employ a significant proportion of their staff to work from home. I heard the other day for example that one of the huge airlines now has 97% of reservation staff working from home, on a permanent basis. And home can be wherever you want it to be. So for some people there is the opportunity to get a place in DR on the beach, fly south for the winter and still do their jobs as normal. Real estate is still comparatively cheap by Caribbean standards, it's reasonably safe, there's plenty to like.

I see that your glass is half empty. So be it.
There has been much done that you did not see, obviously.
Get off the main road, as another pointed out.
