Today this restaurant bill was posted to Facebook by one of my friends. It’s a restaurant in Boca Chica. I know inflation is rampant, but come on.

Is this a typical bill these days? 400 pesos for a Presidente Light P (pequeno????). Steep bill for what looks like 3 people.

Color me astonished.

I assume that's a pitcher of sangria, not even top shelf liquors and Santa Rita Cabernet for 45 bucks.

And i don't even want to know where Jose's hands were before he grabbed a handful of that 3-day old chopped fruit

It seems to me that almost everything in the supermarkets has gone up at least 20%. I just bought a bag of Induban Gourmet coffee en grano that was costing around 300 pesos. Now - 370 pesos. That's almost 25%.

The calamari price doesn't seem unreasonable, but it's hard to say without seeing the serving size.

That’s Neptunos. Nothing unusual about the prices. I go there frequently with friends when I’m in boca chica. It’s a very expensive restaurant, although not worthy of the prices. You can eat much better in Santo Domingo for half that price in places like La Cassina, Maraca, Peperoni, Lila, etc.

Love the food here but Neptunos is ridiculous. That’s the only place where I make sure we’re splitting the bill before I go.

I would rather give that money to my wife's Mother and her family, they would cook me a FEAST ...
Screw these greedy restaurants . and then you pay 18 % Vat and 10 % gratuity on top of it .
Not in Boca Chica ,, EVER .

That's almost $80 each for a paella with a calamari and lambi appetizers, two beers, cheap wine, a salad, and a cup of coffee. Expensive.

Well to be honest, it's a remote village populated with narco traffickers, money launderers, interpol-wanteds, politico-corrupts, assassins, you name it. (And that's just what they show on channel 5 news and CDN); 100 dollar flashlight is the least of your worries.
