Full hotel for Easter will boost the economy of the East

flecha.jpg
Great expectations in hotels in Punta Cana and Romana-Bayahibe
flecha.jpg
They expect a high flow of local vacationers

The interest of tourists to vacation in the next few days of the Easter 2022 holiday means that the local hotel industry is emerging with outstanding occupancy levels in the country’s main tourist centers, as is the case of Punta Cana and Romana-Bayahibe.
In this sense, the president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Projects of the East ( Asoleste ), Ernesto Veloz, told arecoa.com that this area will have 90% occupancy and that, even if the occupational data is not handled in property rental service platforms such as Airbnb, the segment mentioned above in the East will lead the tourist region to have 100% visitor accommodation.

Come out from under your rocks and start crowing again about NO ONE in the Hotels. Go ahead and show your stupidity. All are welcome...................

I am a part of tourism here and have been since 2005. As per normal, the government numbers are inflated. For certain, there were a ton of rooms available for Samana Santa and for 2 or 3 days resorts are getting a good turnout. BUT...leading up to this (and for certain, come Monday) numbers are down. The Canadian market that typically fuels the occupancy this time of year is a trickle. The Russian market , which for some resorts made up 60+% of occupancy, has disappeared.

I just recieved a heavily discounted price for Iberostar for May through October. This is not normal. Most people I have picked up over the past 2 months have commented on how quiet it is this year compared to other years they have visited. My business, as well as others within the excursions market are down.

Things have improved, but to say that they are setting records is simply hard to believe. Then again, when is the last time you believed a Dominican politician?

Just about never LOL

Same with any numbers that can't be verified by trusted 3rd parties.

PCMike, it's very clear that there is a segment of our membership with a significant personal interest whether financial or otherwise, that it is in their best interest to push the "record growth" agenda.

Hotels are full. Airport is packed with people. But some morons look at Webcams that are not even live. But let them keep posting. Anyone here in PC can attest to the traffic.........................

Busiest airport than every other Airport in the DR combined.......................PUJ
Yes it's a busy airport. A quick Google eSKY will tell any non PC person that it's very busy. Even now, a poor campesino like me on the North Coast knows how well everyone is doing in PC!
