Chico. I had many dogs over the years. My favourite were the German Shepards. I had a Siberian Husky for almost 16 years. My cousin was an RCMP dog handler for eight years. They train with the dogs and the dogs live with them once they are ready for duty. He liked the Alsatians. They could train them to take down a running suspect by latching on to their crotch area. 😆 No more dogs for me since I retired. If I had the desire to get another dog it would be an Airedale. Great outdoor dog, poodle type hair (very little shedding), and a great water dog.

I’m always amazed to see Pitbulls and other similar breeds running around free in places like Costambar and on the beach in Cabarete. Picture of my last Shepard attached.

Your shepherd looks like mine did. I cried like a baby when she died.

Took me three months to get up the courage to go to the vet and put down my 16 year old blind and arthritic Husky. My ex wife just spent a fortune on an Australian Doodle. I figured after we divorced I would eventually be replaced by another man. Instead I’ve been replaced by a dog. C’est la vie! 😂

If I lived permanently in the DR, I’d have a decent size dog for security reasons.
