Here's an interesting side note. They do not have a permit to construct anything, according to ayudamento.
Only to excavate dirt and remove trees.
Now this may sound stupid - why would they grant a permit to destroy the hillside ?

Of course they plan on building something, but no one wants to say what it is yet.
Because they know no one wants what they are peddling.

And now rumors of a walkway bridge over the highway between the big deforestation beach side. And they just put up tin barriers yesterday on the beach side to hide what they will be destroying there

Very interesting. Disruption during construction of the overpass is to be expected if true.

For sure something "big" is going in where that hill will have been.

I think that's where they're putting the parking area. Makes sense. And doing just the clearing now makes sense because it gives them a nice sized staging area for the construction on the beach side. It's a small site, they'll need all the room they can get for equipment, materials, trailors, etc.

Dominicans like to put up barriers while construction is on going. It's a thing they do just about anywhere something is being built.
Perhaps to keep people off the site so they don't steal things? Just a guess.

As for the parking area being on the south side of the main highway (to fit those 300 cars with security and cameras of course) along with a pedestrian bridge over the road, that makes far to much sense to be what is actually happening.

Thanks for that drone shot. Now all can see why trying to park there and take a picture could be an issue since you would be blocking a lane of traffic.

They have a long way to go if that is going to be parking for 300 cars, but they were moving fast.

It is much bigger now - that rock in the slope of the bottom cut is entirely sitting alone 40' in front of the slope they are currently cutting.

Will they stop when they have about 60,000 square feet since that would be enough for about 300 parking spaces? Or is it for another "Ferreteria". LOL

Actually it is …not much soil look at different colours literally cutting into mountain.. they did same bottom of La mulata and made a few business there..
So, it is now down to bare rock? That's going to be a really monumental job gouging out rock to make that site bigger than it is right now.
