Andreina Martinez stars in Miss Universe; is second runner up

Miss Dominican Republic Andreina Martinez was a strong favorite to win the Miss Universe contest held in New Orleans. The competition was tight. But at the end, the judges chose Miss United States, R’Bonney Gabriel, on Saturday, 14 January 2023. Miss Venezuela was the first runner up.

Diario Libre shares the commentaries online made by several on the outstanding performance of the Dominican beauty queen who competed against 84 participants from all around the world in the 71st edition of the contest.

President Luis Abinader congratulated Dominican candidate Andreina Martinez for her performance. Martinez came in third after Miss USA and Miss Venezuela. Since when Ada Aimee de la Cruz made the top 3 in 2009, a Dominican candidate hadn’t done so well in the contest. The DR only has one Miss Universe, Amelia Vega in 2003.

I thought she was too skinny and flat, but she actually looks pretty good in a bikini. I still liked the looks of Miss Curacao the best.

Maybe she has a nice personality, because I've seen finer women in the bar here on any given night.
No accounting for taste however, did you see that abomination bronze statue meant to honor MLK ? It was embarrassing - looked like someone holding a mojón.

Miss Puerto Rico's (another looker as well) mother was not happy about Miss DR being in the finals and not her daughter. She says there are things being rigged by the new owner and said it goes back to the Miss USA being rigged as well. Her rant was up for a day then she took it down, but not before the news channels got ahold of it. BTW, Miss USA has Philippine roots as well.

There is a joke in my home country I'll try to translate it. A man who's been working in Germany for years and made a fortune comes back to his hometown to get married. He holds an audition and many girls come. He asks the 1st one "how much is 2+3?", she say 5. Ok this one knows math. 2nd one, "where is Canada?", north of USA. Ok this one knows geography. 3rd "how you make pasta?... He goes through 20 girls and finally picks one. His friends ask him "so which one did you choose, the one who knows the math the best, the best cook, the...?", he says "the one with the biggest tits".
