Compañía de carpeta removes most (if not all) legal obstacles to starting a business. ...Arrive today in SD, buy one tomorrow, by the end of the week or less you are in business.
Thanks for the info. That would certainly save a lot of time, although I think if I buy one of those ready made companies I would still need to get the dealer license separately.

Compañía de carpeta removes most (if not sll) legsl obstacles to starting a business. Plus, you buy one today and within 48 business hours or less you can start selling all fully legal. Last time I checked, the cost of one was around US$2,000. Could be more now since everything has gone up. Many attorney offices sell them. Arrive today in SD, but one tomorrow, by the end of the week or less you are in business.

Just be aware many of these Compañías de carpeta have funny and somewhat generic names. If you want a name change, it will take longer for when you can start selling.

Easy Peasy lol……..

There was a Canadian man in Puerto Plata importing and selling cars from Canada. His business was for sale and he could probably have helped a buyer.
But he was getting out of the business likely because it wasn't lucrative

Going into that business is now tougher precisely because there are several Dominican companies that have developed the sector. Producto Sosúa is only one of them (and presumably the one that invented one of the products.) La Vega has two similar ones, INDUVECA and Incarna. In Santo Domingo area there is Chef. Central Romana is the creator of Higüeral, though I think they limit themselves to creating salami only. There might be a few others. The salami area in Dominican supermarkets essentially all are Dominican made. Other stuff many of them produce such as hot dogs, cheeses, etc compete with imports.

The point is that the founders of Productos Sosúa see things different from most. Otherwise they wouldn't had created the company in what was basically a village in the middle of nowhere and invent one of the products. Ironically, many expats now live in the same town Productos Sosúa was created, except today not only is the town much bigger, so is the country. Making serious money through legitimate means is now easier than when Productos Sosúa was created.

Thanks for the replies. One more question, sorry. Do you know of cases where a dealership would let you import a car for yourself trough their dealership for a fee? Do they practice that? Thanks.
Send me a PM ..... I can help you out on this.....

I knew several Vietnamese living in and around New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina and a good friend of mine was actually born a boat coming over. 250K per? I've never heard of such nonsense.
