I have 4 cartons of household items, clothes and food that I want to ship to Santo Domingo. By sea. I can deliver to Miami. Will be a monthly thing if service is reliable and affordable.
Who should I use? Trucker friend doing for me so would like easy in and out in Miami. Deliver to house in Santo Domingo. Recommendations please.

I like Domex for packages, but I don't think I'd go with them for boxes of stuff. I would definitely call them and ask for a quote and you surely would get them delivered to their door.
I've been in freight for many years, but personal shipments is not my forte.

I will have to search, but I know I saved information that dv8 provided about a shipper in Miami that she and her husband used. If I can find it, I'll pass it on to you. Johne.

Your trucker could deliver the goods to Antillean Marine in Miami. Their terminal is on the Miami River. If your goods don't fill up a container, they have a less than full container option. They would sail into Rio Haina port discharge the cargo and hold it there until customs clears your shipment. Once it clears customs you can move the goods to your location. Of course, you need a customs broker to submit the appropriate documents. That generally costs around $150. You also may have to pay import duties depending on what you are importing.

I still remember the jingle of Mudanza Monti "la del puntito en la i." lol I will probably remember that jingle until the day I die or get Alzheimers, which ever comes first.

I have no idea what is their reputation, but I think they are still in business. They make those shipments of household goods from the USA to the DR or vice versa.

La Rosa del Monte is another I remember, but have no idea on their reputation.

Montero shipping, Miami. Used them a lot. Have a shipment on the way as we speak. Google their website and contact them.
They are on the top of my list to contact on Monday. My stuff is located in Savannah Ga. but I think I I have a good chance to get the cartons to them in Miami on a as needed basis.

I've been using Embarque Colonial for years. They deliver right to my home in Sosua.
