Sorry, my bad. What makes you think his best people are not on the case?
Maybe they are, maybe they're not, if the missing was my family member I'd do everything I could to make sure they are and they're on it 24/7, and a call from somebody well-connected would help. Same as if a poor barrio girl goes missing or a daughter of a minister or a diputado goes missing. Initially I advised the person to seek help from his country's embassy/consul because it was obvious from his post he didn't know what to do and was asking about galleras and stuff.

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.

Hopefully, the PN or some investigative body is working with substantially more data than what we have seen in this LD article and FB. With this little information, it would be hard to find tea in China

And to a
Out of curiosity, what makes you think they are not working on the case already?
Also to add, and I know many will laugh, but given the resourced they have PN is a great police force and when they want they solve majority of cases thanks to so many chivatos they have on the streets and the locals not being able to keep their mouths shut. In DR the problem is the judiciary system and corrupt fiscals and the judges, PN/DICRIM do their job very well.

I know this is an obvious one, but I wonder if they have checked to see if he got on another flight. They know he didn't board the flight going to Germany, but did he board another flight. Pretty obvious, but I know how stupid people in this country can be. Still doesn't explain how there's no movement on his credit cards I guess.

I am not sure this outcome is going to be good or if we will ever know what happened.

I agree with you. If a tourist is involved and it's getting international publicity, there will be a great deal of resources thrown at this one.

I don't agree. Bo Dietl commented it was very difficult to get cooperation from the Dom authorities in the Fornicatora case. I don't see anything in the media on this. If Iceland is not sending a team, well I doubt this will produce any positive results

I saw a news post last night that the airport confirmed there is no record of his exit from the country.

While highly unlikely, it's possible he just walked across the border to Haiti to fly out. Obviously he would have had to pay cash, but it's still possible.

He’s a tourist in Santo Domingo, how would he even know to do that, how to reach the border and why?? And his credit card hasn’t been used. I fear something awful happened.

Do DT maybe read dr1 for breaking news ?
Wouldn't surprise me if they do.
I prefer the local news in the local language however
since this is an English speaking site I try not to post links
to articles in Spanish.

100% agreed.
The PN know exactly who is doing what and more often then not their
street level crimes are tolerated until they seriously injure or kill one of their
victims. Tho I must say this lax attitude does appear to be changing in Santiago,
can't speak for other parts of the country,,
