Go back to finger pointing! He’s questioning your logic. Not that hard to understand his post.
It is naive to believe everything said/posted in the media. None of us know what goes on in private. Of course everyone is going to point fingers, it is a normal reaction to something of this magnitude. However, saying it will affect the Presidents legacy is a reach on your part. As expats we all have opinions on how the DR should or shouldn't do things. But is does not work that way, never has.Not an unexpected response given the government’s actions or lack of actions the past four days. The last line sums up the situation beautifully. It’s not a political battle, it’s a war for human dignity. KC opined it wouldn’t affect the President Abinader’s legacy. I beg to differ. The biggest deadliest disaster in modern DR history and this is the approach his government is taking? The DR history books will not judge him kindly. If he is politically smart, he will try to tun this around quickly but I suspect that won’t happen. He is acutely aware of the failings of his various government agencies responsible for public safety.
Big what is your take on this disastrous event ? What did you see in the different video clips ? Was it just an unavoidable accident ?Go back to finger pointing!
Thanks to my outstanding Intelligence and years of practice in the field of "Keyboard Detective" i finished my Report about this incident.I agree but that doesn’t stop investigators doing initial forensic work as the debris is being surgically removed to rescue the injured and retrieve the dead as long as it is safe to do so. That wasn’t mentioned in the information released so far. Having a single engineer look for clues after all the debris has been removed limits his ability to determine the cause.
Presidents, past and present, have had their legacy’s tainted by corruption. Presidents with a cavalier attitude towards public safety and the resulting significant loss of human lives also have had their legacy’s tainted. Abinader has had a good run, going after corruption and many other DR problems. He only has a short time left. He has my respect for most of what he has tried to achieve in his two terms. I’d hate to see him go out on a bad note. If he doesn’t take measures to resolve the negative media problems, it will cost him. My reach isn’t that far.It is naive to believe everything said/posted in the media. None of us know what goes on in private. I think we can just listen to what many Dominicans are saying. They are much more critical than this forum. It is naive to believe everything said/posted in the media. First good news about this incident ! Let's hope that they set an example.A few people have been arrested for making false and inappropriate information and posts https://hoy.com.do/jet-set-difundio-el-cadaver-de-rubby-perez-y-esto-le-paso/
The Jet Set disco didn't look big enough to be able to hold all the fans that Shakira could draw(?).It is interesting actually that Shakira recently cancelled her concert. Some here suggested it was because of slow ticket sales. I don't think that was the official reason. Maybe this country just hasn't got the infrastructure for large events like this.
I disagree but again it is your opinion. The Dominican culture as most of us know is of the mindset/thinking that things happen for a reason, Gods will if you must. Not saying it's right or wrong. The media will always have their take on the events. Each with their own view. In the end all that matters is the facts, and we are a long way from that.Presidents, past and present, have had their legacy’s tainted by corruption. Presidents with a cavalier attitude towards public safety and the resulting significant loss of human lives also have had their legacy’s tainted. They are very serious about this. We have a friend who runs a media site for a local town. They have been getting "notices" since this happened warning about comments/posts.A few people have been arrested for making false and inappropriate information and posts https://hoy.com.do/jet-set-difundio-el-cadaver-de-rubby-perez-y-esto-le-paso/
Wasn't her concert planned for the estadio olympico. Something about the reasoning for cancelling was organizational issues beyond the artists control. My point is maybe they considered it not to be up to their standards. I mean a general DR problem. Not just the JetSet venue. Hasn't the recovery also had criticism ?The Jet Set disco didn't look big enough to be able to hold all the fans that Shakira could draw(?).
Can we stick to the subject at hand and leave Shakira out if it?Wasn't her concert planned for the estadio olympico. I am so sorry boss. Can we stick to the subject at hand and leave Shakira out if it?
I might be out of line saying this, but in my opinion, if nothing is done aside from "cleaning" the site and rebuilding, that is direct disrespect to all the victims. It's like nothing happened. I really hope it's not as it was posted that if the owner did something "not right" here, that he would not face any consequences. I hope that even in the DR that is not right.I expect accountability, recommendations, and actions to prevent this from happening again. The same things you and I would expect as North Americans familiar with proper investigations. I would expect it even more if one of my family members was killed or injured as a result of negligence. It goes without saying the families of the deceased will never forget . Neither will DR history books. Nor should they.
