Report from May 14, 2025 in English.

Apparently, Barbecue know English. Hmm, where did he learn it? Does he knows Spanish too?

One of those reporters should ask him why he thinks of the DR. The answer could be telling.

PS. I’m always amazed how these reporters get face-to-face with these gang leaders and yet, security forces aren’t able to find these men on the most wanted lists.

I have seen him speak English in other videos too. Maybe he learned English at school, a privilege that the current generation don't have, thanks to all the destruction he and his fellow nihilists have caused.

false! most Haitians in fact do not speak either Spanish or functional French. Creole is a local tongue that is useless outside of Haiti. Unless one wants to bus tables. This is a huge obstacle for the Haitians.
Most Haitians learn Spanish in school in Haiti and French if they went to private school and many I have met can speak some English as well. Seamonkey said most Haitians that he knows. How would you know if that was false, unless you knew all the same Haitians.

Most Haitians that I know speak several languages. Usually, Creole, French, Spanish and English.
I have to be very careful and don’t want to be rude, but I think there is a different view on the meaning of “speaking a language”.
I speak Dutch of course, Spanish and English.
I can defend myself in German and in French but would never say I speak these two languages, while maybe an American would consider that “speaking a language”.

Maybe he is propped up, protected and educated by one of many agencies from various countries that are facilitating the flow of drugs and guns through the country.

Most Haitians I have met seem to speak French. I'm far from but I know it's not Kreole. If course they also speak that and yes there are many versions of Kreole like most languages. Geography and other factors make for many versions. Many also speak German or Dutch

The fact that Barbecue speaks English and possibly other languages is not surprising.

That he is still alive is interesting

So is the fact that if reporters can find him then obviously others could to. The question is why is he still alive. Who's figurehead is he. He's not just who he appears, that a certainty

Big, with respect, please stop claiming that you are an expert on all subjects. I don't think anyone on here knows exactly how many Haitians speak English, French and Spanish. Certainly my experience has been that most Haitians I have run into in the Dominican Republic speak reasonable to good Spanish, French and in some cases English. But i have no idea how representative that sample is of the whole country and I suspect neither do you.

never said I was an expert. The fact of the matter is the majority if the country cannot communicate in Spanish other than "kitchen" Spanish. 10-to 20 percent of the population may be able to have a conversion in French; however, they are not in Sosua working as a moto driver. They are running businesses and on flights back and forth to Miami

Regarding this person:
the act of repeatedly focusing on and talking about negative behavior can inadvertently give it more attention and visibility, potentially making it seem more prevalent or powerful than it actually is

giving a fist pump and saying "what's up bro" is not speaking the language.
My Dominican wife, who speaks French as well as English and Spanish has spoken French with a number of Haitians. There is know way of knowing what the actually percentage is that actually speak or understand French. All the Haitian kids we have in the school can read, write, and speak Spanish. Some better than others, depending on many factors.
