OK... I'm lost. Could you provide more detail as to location please? Being into horses, I'm always interested in what is going on in my area. I don't know of a Bella Vista up that road but never went the whole 17km since it stops with a right/left turn well before 17km. Do I turn right or left and go how far? Of course, many areas and towns are not marked with their names. What side of the road are they on and do they have a sign? I'll make it a point to go up this week.

As for Rancho Luisa. I have not been there yet and meaning to go. Shame on me for not doing so. I have met Tommy a couple of times and he is a charming young man. I watched him ride at the exhibition at Paraiso del Caballo about two weeks ago. Someone else's spirited horse; Tommy in shorts and flip flops. Pouring rain so we loaned him a hat. He is a very impressive rider, not formal but impressive with his own skill and it could not be missed that he was having a blast doing it. Just about everyone there enjoyed.

Paso Fino Show on Saturday/19th.

We just got this late yesterday from Adopaso.

A Paso Fino show will be held at Rancho La Aldea, km. 25, Pedro Brand, autopista Duarte. Easy drive from Santo Domingo or Santiago. 11:00 AM. Guests welcome, 200 RD.

This area has a few horse ranches with breeds other then Paso Finos.

We were just told that the our horse, Sereno, has been registered and confirmed pedigree. We hope to enter him in this show, our first.

Three weeks ago near Kite Beach we were almost run down by about 10galloping horses with only one rider...This is crazy and should not be allowed.
In addition near Ocean Dreams there was a huge ares of horse droppings in front of the kite beach horse rental area. Surely someone can pick up this **** on a public beach! I dont think its right to have horses with families around on Cabarete beach!

Horses for rent

You can try Njoy Tours... they offer horse back riding and the horses are in decent shape. They are about 50 minutes away from Cabarete. You can contact them through the resorts on there website (.com). Hope that helps!

I have been to the ones at Coconut Palms... they are worn out, It's a shame really.
