The DR tourist industry has been brought to its proverbial knees by the pandemic.

Just as travel seemed likely to begin to open up in the second half of the year.................a new threat emerges in the form of updated CDC Level 4 travel advisories (Do Not Travel) to be announced soon.

The list is indicated to be pretty all encompassing............affecting 80% of the world's countries.

Will the DR be on that list?

And the list was just released;

Unfortunately, the DR is now indicated a Level 4..............Do Not Travel.

DR was elevated to Level 4 Do Not travel with C and H designations.

C= Crime
H=Health

I am scheduled to facilitate the transfer/sale of some cars at the port of Caucedo in June. At this point the bigger concern I have is how the airlines react and if they cut service or if there are new disruptions of cargo service at the port.

It is a bit bizarre as the airlines have for several months been ramping up and adding flights. How/if this might impact travel is still an unknown, but it will likely have some impact on the AI's.

The beaches on the west coast of Florida are packed and will continue to be as people don't want the hassle of being shaken down on their vacay for a medical test

What I see is that we have been in level 4 before and airlines continue flying down here, so I dont think that will affect, Dominicans didnt care that before and now less, the percent of ocupation in airlines flying here this month increased, I think not too many people pay atention to those alerts.

It was level 4 at the end of last year too.

The DR spent much of 2020 as Level 4 Do Not Travel, but on November 19, 2020, the State Department lowered it to Level 3.....and it stayed that way until April 20, 2021, when it was upgraded again to Level 4.
