Most shippers are licensed to import, not export....you need a permit to be able to export ..... The only way to do it is go to a container shipper and see if you can rent space on a container.... easy to bring in, but difficult to export.....
They have asphalted the entire detour and placed a center line down..... looks like sooner than later.... to any govt in the DR, Construction season needs to be part of High season....
Go down to the Caves of Cabarete early in the morning....just after sunrise and you will find a lot of bird there.... While doing a course with Medio Ambiente we went out in the morning and I was surprised at the amount of different species of birds flying around.....

Before they can start construction on a new bridge they need to finish upgrading the detour.... there is no place to put another bridge except in the same location as the old one, so means tearing that one out and putting in something brand new.... they are still working on widening the detour...
I've done Cabarete - Churchill/JFK in 2hrs 6 min....... although you can't do it that kind of time now because of all the speedbumps..... I was taking a guy for his visa interview and he didn't get it because I think he still has some crap in his pants.....
