    Please Explain the Sugar Shortage

Hmmm, so I should start worrying after I hit 108?

    Please Explain the Sugar Shortage

Our life expectancy keeps increasing. That tells me much of the concern is ado about nothing. There are some people who may be hypersensitive to splenda/saccarin/or whatever, but that's a distinct minority.

He asked me," Is it OK if I call in a Haitian"

Bob, in Jarabacoa, do you have frequent roundups of Haitians by Migracion? In Boca Chica, we have them a lot, but probably not daily. I'm guessing that our cities are similar in population, but given we are so much closer to the capital than you and not quite as isolated, our Haitians get more...

    More Nasty Sheet in Haiti

I'm very much pro Haiti. However that diatribe has got to be the dumbest thing I've read in 4 days.

    Please Explain the Sugar Shortage

My kid uses it for coffee. I used to use it for oatmeal but since I went to PriceSmart and bought 1000 packets of the fake sugar, my real sugar usage is at absolute 0.

    Your Money Shrinkage

For me it's food more than anything else. Utilities maybe contribute a little, but not that much. Other expenses remain the same.

    Your Money Shrinkage

Same with Haitians. However I have convinced my kid to save and he has quite a nice nest egg saved up.

    Please Explain the Sugar Shortage

I've seen it and bought it in Ole when they were out of the cremora sugar. If they have the cremora though, I never look for white.

President to address impasse between Haiti and DR at the UN General Assembly

I was involved in 2 well diggings in okap, both for blan organizations. We drilled down to 100 feet to reduce the risk of contanmination. If memory serves right, most Haitian wells are 20 feet deep, at least in the north.

He asked me," Is it OK if I call in a Haitian"

I know it's off topic, but for me most Haitians are all smiles. I do talk and play with them which probably helps a lot.

    Your Money Shrinkage

If you figure on average I have saved $800/month, for 60 months by living in the DR. That's $48k. That's a big chunk of chain for someone with dwindling years left.

    Your Money Shrinkage

Interesting but I do mine on an annual basis. I track from my retirement anniversary. For the first 3 years, my net worth actually increased because of the market.

    Your Money Shrinkage

I also keep that stuff in a spreadsheet. I have only noticed an increase in the last year. But, given that I'm saving between $750 - 1000 each month on rent and utilities, I'm not complaining.

He asked me," Is it OK if I call in a Haitian"

I have one Haitian friend in Santiago who is afraid to go to work. He's about 30 or so. Not sure how he is going to survive.

One more thing. Today I went to a new bakery in town (Boca Chica). I struck up a conversation with the owner and found out lots of cools stuff about him To me, if you are open and not standoffish, the DR is a great place to meet folks. I like that much better than the USA.
