Complicated question about flights to Colombia

The way I read it is that you must cancel the flight within 5 business days of purchasing the ticket, but not later than 24 hours before the flight. But I could be wrong!

anyone have experience w/switching bank id document from passport to cédula & building credit?

That’s true for many things in the DR. There are few hard and fast rules. I have temporary residency and tried a few times a couple of years ago to change my ID with BP from my passport to cedula. I cannot recall exactly what paperwork I was asked for, but it was the same as some of the...

Mastercard brings Apple Pay to the Dominican Republic

You can pay online with Apple Pay if the online store offers the option. Some do, some don’t. For example I don’t believe Amazon offers Apple Pay as an option. https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-use-apple-pay-in-stores-and-online-and-why-you-should/ https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201239

Mastercard brings Apple Pay to the Dominican Republic

According to Apple “Apple Pay is safer than using a physical credit, debit, or prepaid card. Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode is required for purchases on your iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, or iPad. Your card number and identity aren't shared with merchants, and your actual card numbers aren't...

    What type of snake?

I told no-one about the snake (apart from everyone on DR1!). I had no intention of killing it and it has now gone from where it was. I admit I now check where I tread a bit more carefully now, and look up more often!

Delancer becoming too slow to use

Delancerguy, we have DeLancer cable with unlimited data and are generally happy with it. I did consider changing to a faster plan with a data cap, but I have no idea how much data we use monthly. Would DeLancer have a record of this for previous months, or is there any way of monitoring this in...

    Mailing Letter - Debit Card

I use EPS for parcels from the US, and had heard using EPS’s letter service from the US was very slow, so last time I needed to receive a letter (not a debit card) from the UK I had a friend put it in a small parcel and send it to the EPS parcel address in Miami and it arrived promptly. Maybe...

    Edenorte is a disaster

I thought it was not working for a long time, until I turned off my VPN. Works for me with Claro or DeLancer. WhatsApp can also be used to enquire about money owed, pay etc, but a card needs to have been registered first to pay.

    Edenorte Seems to be Offline

I contacted Edenorte by WhatsApp today to say I had not been able to access their Oficina Virtual for several weeks and did they know when it would be available again. Their reply was "No. Estamos presentando inconveniente en nuestros canales de pago" which translated means they are having...

iPhone fans....forget your upgrade to 14 in the DR

I believe it is only in the US the iPhone will be sold without a SIM tray. In Europe there will be a SIM tray - the same as the iPhone X. I am guessing it will be sold with a SIM tray in the DR.

    Antigen Test: Santiago

I need an antigen test to transit through the US. I will be in Santiago the day before I leave so looking for recommendations of where to go. Ideally somewhere reliable where there is unlikely to be a queue and I get the result within an hour. If it is near to PUCMM even better. Thanks. Adrian

All Terrain Tires. Buy here or ship from USA?

I need to replace the All Terrain tires for my truck. 265/65 R17. In the past I have always ended up buying them from David's in Sosua. Not much choice, although sometimes he has got them from elsewhere, but easy. Last week David's did not have any so wondering if anyone can suggest somewhere...
