    Sosúa Beach Renovations

This morning's Tide and the 2.3 meter waves managed to top the sand at the front of the Beach and break into the eroded trench behind. The beach is now vulnerable to large scale erosion from the Ocean. Sand is what makes a Beach..... and SOON..... there will be less. This was preventable.

    Sosúa Beach Renovations

I figured out something this morning as I walked Sosua Beach. First... (this morning) there is a GIANT water leak pouring a small river through a half dozen “Bars”. It then makes it's way to the Beach and into the Erosion trench at the back of the Beach. Second... on my way back, wanting to...

ESTATUA DE ATABEY EN SOSUA or ATABEY STATUE IN SOSUA This is very large (very strangle looking) Concrete Statue that was started on Sosua Beach years ago. The local Church made a big stink because it was a pagan fertility goddess statue. It disappear for a couple years. The two years ago, it...

    Sosúa Beach Renovations

Yesterday (Friday Jan 3, 2025) I walked Sosua Beach to Charamicos and back, between 3 and 4pm. What I saw was (at least) 30% of the “Bars” with no one... just bored employees staring at their phones. Half of the “Bars” had one to four guests. The Government has done their best to make it look...

    Sosúa Beach Renovations

The story I heard (years ago, no idea if it was true). . . . A General “acquired” the land behind the Beach. He eventually past away and the widow inherited it. She collected Rent..... It was like a pension for her. Then. . . . The “Government” started to strong arm her. She sold. Also...

    Sosúa Beach Renovations

One of my concerns is lack of attention to water run off. I assume the entire new Plaza area will be surfaced. When it rains, the roofs will dump their water off each end. The ground will be concrete or very compact “gravel” which will pass their rain water (very quickly) downhill. Some water...

Imagine the damage down there. The water lines are buried 0” to 6” in the sand. I wouldn't be surprised they broke the water lines in multiple places. If the shack had a water pipe.... the ends would have been ripped off. Who is fixing those? They all have to be capped or NO Water ANYWHERE...
