Repair bathroom water-heater in Puerto Plata

No, this is not the EU, the only reason I mentioned it was the fact that there I had to do the math for gas kwh content due to forecasting billing. So, if my math is correct, for the DOP price of 132.60 of GLP, and a few web sources, I came to the approx price 5.37 DOP per kwh, which means that...

Repair bathroom water-heater in Puerto Plata

I generally trust no water fixtures here at all. We don't leave the house with any valves open. In case of having our own pump, the pump is shut off before leaving. We've never had any accident like that, sorry to hear about that.

Repair bathroom water-heater in Puerto Plata

This is now going severely off-topic, but you do realize that an inverter must first convert A/C to D/C and then reverse the same process, so for that part the "cheap energy" part is not so valid anymore. There is a formula to calculate the kwh amount a gas has (I know this as our house had a...

Repair bathroom water-heater in Puerto Plata

I asked the OP a question in post 3, but have no reply. The reason for the question was that a water heater is rather simple, so not sure why several plumbers would not have figured it out. We know of an electrician and used to know a good plumber, but without knowing what the heater is/is not...

Heavy rains cause flooding especially in the north, rains forecast to continue

That's a pretty good summary... Near the main road, even near the bus station I saw mud everywhere today, so it was under water... Fire trucks today washing the main road for debris...

Heavy rains cause flooding especially in the north, rains forecast to continue

POP was heavily flooded last night. Worst thing I have ever seen. Apparently one river overflew and as a result, the street where my MIL resides, turned into a river of about 2-3 feet of water. Firetrucks working at midnight to get the mud out, people calling to each other being worried, several...

    Living In Hell

To be honest, if any adult was making those while working, I would be thinking if there's something wrong with them. Never seen that happening, so security guard doing those would perhaps make me a bit unease as well.... That being said, while it's been discussed in length that customer service...

    Did I miss something?

Bigger ones are, like Jumbo and Sirena. Lots of people though... We just came back from Jumbo an hour ago, parking lot full... Not to worry, this does not make any sense to me either. Back home public holidays are celebrated on the actual dates they have been put to and not moved around...

Repair bathroom water-heater in Puerto Plata

What are the symptoms, what does it do? Those are really not complicated devices, so wonder why after two plumbers the issue would not be solved?

    Living In Hell

I don't know the OP and I might be wrong, but based on experience, that might have to do with them being senior citizens and handwriting styles learned in the past which may have been transferred to the keyboard? I'm saying this as my grandmother is 89 and she has a very peculiar way of writing...

    Living In Hell

Yes, this is my experience as well. By coincidence, my SIL has a few Canadian friends, who are already really elderly, and they have been the best friends for decades now. Funny story, a few weeks ago we made a u-turn in a residencial area. We signaled as you would and obviously made sure that...

DR seeks to protect grid resilience in wake of Spain’s blackout crisis

That is exactly the problem. While living in EU, we have experienced a blackout that lasted a few hours. I'm not kidding, it was not fun, why? Because nothing there by default is prepared for that. If you have a moderately modern heating system, it might run on gas but the control unit is...

Foreigners prepare to sue JetSet Club owners

Just a thought, wouldn't this "being shielded" or appealing any judgement do reputational damage? I mean, he has been open for the investigation, but then evading responsibility, that would be contradictory, no?

    Smartphone repair shop NC/Santiago

Yes, we have multiple Google Accounts we could use. And factory reset is obviously not a problem at all as such, you are right, that does clean the phone. The problem in this case is that backing up the device to Cloud while it was still working properly was unfortunately neglected... Now fixing...

    Smartphone repair shop NC/Santiago

Thanks, looks like a trip to Santiago in the near future. We have to go there anyway, so might as well give it a shot. To clarify, this is in fact my wife's older phone, we both have the habit of not wanting to throw any stuff away, so even though she's not actively using that anymore, she wants...

Thank you. I'm honestly embarking a whole new journey here, as even though I work with technology, I have hardly ever done anything with smartphones. This is an older phone not used by anyone actively, but it could work well for someone...
