Hi, this hotel is offering some very good deals for February, some as much as 50% less than other hotels in Playa Dorada. Its rated as a 4*, Has anyone stayed there lateley and what is it like? We normally stay at Iberostar or Gran Ventana as we have two young children and would like to know what this hotel is like compared to them. Any information would be appreciated.
THANKS CRAIG

Have stayed there and found the rooms to be large and very clean. The bathrooms were immaculate. The food was very good and there is a very nice private pool w/launge chairs on the grounds right were the rooms are, perfect for the children. (you have to supervise). Try to get a room on the ground floor close to the pool. There is also a clubhouse for the children were they can spend some time. They have a little outside restaurant (free with the all-inclusive) next to the beach were you can get various foods and drinks. Nightly show put on by the employees that I enjoyed alot. One thing, they have a sit down restaurant (excellent and limited seating) that a reservation is needed for. There is a wait. When you make your reservation and have the dates, call the resort and make the reservations for the restaurant AHEAD of time or you won't get in when you arrive. Never been to the other 2 you mention but I did enjoy Playa Dorada and the price was right. Have fun. Oh, they also have danceing nightly with a DJ.

all 3 good choices.

viva is the more basic of the 3.

rooms are great, very large and immaculate.

food is on par with gran ventana...will not compare to iberostar.

beach is excellent...short walk from room/pool area

entertainment is nightly show and normally softer entertainment poolside (singer, piano player) for a quieter relaxing evening.

staff fantastic here.

we had our wedding here mar 08 and have sent many others here who have come back wondering how fast they can go back because they enjoyed it so much.

it is a good value for your $$ hotel...

gran ventana will have better shows, viva will have nicer rooms and iberostar will have better food.

A friend of mine stayed there last year and complained that the rooms were mouldy!
Said all of her clothes smelled of mould and wouldn't dry, and the staff wouldn't move her to another room as apparently they were all like that!
