Hey guys. This is actually a continuation of this thread http://www.dr1.com/forums/living/100142-my-grill-dying-2.html

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sZ8SpNeMBIpdffiTuQi06A?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_0UVJmliu0qQ/S3GQ3Gb9trI/AAAAAAAAAas/OFfWJRoB-0c/s800/IMG_0197.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/michael.albitz/Documents?feat=embedwebsite">Documents</a></td></tr></table>

So I was taking my grill down to have it repaired and it bounced right out of the back of the truck.

It actually wasn't damaged at all by the fall, thankfully.

Here is a closer look at the damage that I am looking to get repaired:

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sT4hYmWHal4mWC8SqFHNXA?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0UVJmliu0qQ/S3GQ9YMOUFI/AAAAAAAAAa8/Be45EW9RGiw/s800/IMG_0201.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/michael.albitz/Documents?feat=embedwebsite">Documents</a></td></tr></table>

and here is a closeup of the deterioration of the burner:

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Q-0jwezVSPsq3H-p9pTU-A?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_0UVJmliu0qQ/S3GQ-klypDI/AAAAAAAAAbA/lRkGooY6p-Q/s800/IMG_0202.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/michael.albitz/Documents?feat=embedwebsite">Documents</a></td></tr></table>

I cant believe I was actually cooking with it this messed up, must have been all the ash down there plugged up some of those gaping holes a little.

Anyways as Olly suggested. (thank you) I did check out Jumbo and they do indeed have some parts there that would very likely have solved my problem, but I went to see the guys that Hillbilly recommended just for due diligence sake and found this shop on the way:

<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/I3QrMKCyDehmyV_pBvldXQ?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_0UVJmliu0qQ/S3GQ63nSDTI/AAAAAAAAAa4/hxgXMcEU2G8/s800/IMG_0200.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/michael.albitz/Documents?feat=embedwebsite">Documents</a></td></tr></table>

Where they have these homemade industrial stoves made form car wheels out front that intrigued me.

I asked them how much they would charge me to get my grill working again and they said "8 1/2".

I was about to put my grill back in the truck and drive away cause I thought 8,500 pesos was a bit more than I was willing to part with to get my old grill up to speed, but it turns out they were saying 850 to replace the burner. That seems like a pretty good deal.

I will be back this afternoon to see what they have accomplished, they finally quoted me 1600 for the burner, the heat manifold and a deep cleaning so I'm interested to see what they come up with.

They said they could get the electric ignition running again for a little extra, but I don't really use it (battery died a few years back and I never bothered to replace it) so I'm holding off on that for now.
