A friend of mine will be in Puerto Plata later in April. He is very into MotorCross and I am trying to find out if there is a location you can go and rent the bikes and ride a trail??? I seem to remember seeing a place off the main road going from Puerto Plata towards Sosua.

I know nothing about motorcross so excuse my ingorance. Thanks

On the main road Sosua-Cabarete on the right hand side heading towards Cabarete there is a dirt bike mounted high on a pole. Turn off there and follow the road parallel to the main road and you will come across a motor cycle shop that specialises in dirt bikes. The owner's name is Richard I believe he will tell you all you want to know. I'm not into motocross myself so I can't help you further than that.

There is a guy from France named Rudy who does trail tours out of Cabarete. He has bikes, all the gear and its a great time. Be ready though, some of the trails can be pretty tough. I don't know his # but if you check at "Cabarete East" condo's, they know him.

here we are a mountain area. After all my years of street riding
It will probably take awhile to enjoy the dirt roads as much as I
do the streets.
I was told that with a bike such as , you can go to the other side of the island thru the mountains in 3.5 hrs. Santiago to San JUan or close.... You can also drive a 4x4...wow....adventure at its highest...
