Peace Corps Dominican Republic (PC/DR) seeks a qualified full time Extreme Needs Program Specialist (ExNPS) Youth, Families and Community Development (YFCD).

? Basic Functions of the Position:

The Youth, Families and Community Development project works with Dominican organizations to help improve the services that they provide to girls, boys and youth with extreme needs; that is to say that live out of their homes, live with HIV, are being sexually or economically exploited, live in extreme poverty (bateyes), in violent situations or are part of a non-functional family. The Extreme Needs Program Specialist (ExNPS) supports the development of this sector of the youth project and the volunteers that work within it.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor?s Degree in psychology, social work or related discipline

Minimum 3 years experience in Extreme Needs related work.

Demonstrated command of all Microsoft Office applications.

Valid DR driver?s licence.

Ability to travel 50% of the time, as required.

Demonstrated advanced English/Spanish language capabilities for written and oral communication.

Demonstrated experience with new and/or innovative extreme needs programs

Experience working with Peace Corps Volunteers or other similar International Volunteer organizations.

Strong active listening and counseling skills.
