Hello -

I was wondering if anyone knows from where or from whom I would be able to rent one or two portable toilets (the blue plastic 'porta-potties'/'port-a-loos' or similar) for two months throughout the summer for use at our day camp for kids? Somewhere or the North Coast, or even better, in the Rio San Juan/Cabrera/Nagua area would be preferable, as we are located in Cabrera. Thanks very much for any advice you can give.

Tee hee..... A couple of years ago, our friend Rafy had her birthday party at her bar.... a small trailer, with plastic chairs and tables....During the day, when bathroom facility's were needed, we would go across the road to another bar. She assured us that she would have a porta potty for that night. Well she did..Turned our to be not much more that a shower curtain, wrapped around a pole of some sort, and inside was a bucket. But at least it was private :cheeky:

You could get some plastic five gallon buckets and put a couple inches of Fabuloso in the bottom. Then cut a hole in the lids or attach a toilet seat to the top somehow. The shower curtain idea sounds pretty good. Dig a pit somewhere to dump the buckets every couple days. For what it would cost to get some porta-potties you could prob build a real outhouse. How many kids are you talking about and how many toilets would you need?

The commercial ones are suppose to have about six inches of a quarternary ammonia disinfectant/deordorizer in them but chemicals cost money after all..

Thanks for the information and ideas!! Lambada - Ugg... That doesn't sounds very pleasant! :/ We have been thinking about it and think the bucket & shower curtain idea might be our best bet, especially as the camp is only half day, so they won't be getting used all that much. We will have about 50 campers and 10 staff. We also thought of asking one or two of the home-owners next to the camp if we could pay them for use of their bathroom during those two months of the summer. It would probably end up costing a lot less than the portable toilets, plus it would be giving a family some extra income just for use of their toilet!
