This is a bit of an odd request, I know but it is a matter of both urgency and extreme importance.

Without going into full details here, we need someone who would be prepared to take a CD containing photographs of a CT scan, taken here in the DR, which needs to be seen by a specialist haematology doctor in Dundee, Scotland as soon as possible.

All we need is someone who is prepared to take the CD and post it on to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. You are welcome to view the contents of the CD before accepting it, of course.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance.

I edited the title, WB. A question that most posters must be asking is why not use a courier?

Damn! I have friends that have gone to Dundee. You missed them by 10 days. If I can find anyone else I will let you know!

Sods law, Black Dog....

We tried emailing the entire data but MSN Hotmail would not allow us to send such a large file (over 37 Mb in total) and individual files over over 8Mb.

Zip the file?

Have you tried zipping the file using winzip. It makes the file small enough to e-mail and the person receiving the file will just have to unzip it when they receive it. I have e-mailed entire databases before.

Tried that too and as the entire file is actually over 76 Mb (just the photos were 37 Mb) after using winrar it still remained at 22 Mb, it was still too big. Hear what you say though, so going to have another attempt.

Thanks for all the good suggestions.

We have now managed to upload the folders/ files and send them so it just depends on whether the doctor in Dundee can successfully open them his end but there should be no reason why not as even 'computer illerate' me managed to do it!

I'm sure there is a negocio near your place, which can send extremely large files by email... question will be if the recipient's email will allow him to accept it, as many mail managers will treat this kind of email as suspicious...

so send the doc a seperate email to check his junk box... for the specific title...

ps... compressing pics is hardly worth it.. dividing them yourselves is high risk... and I know it is important those pics arrive in full detail... so maybe ask the doc here, to send you several emails with the pics seperate, and send them as such to your adress in dundee...

Good luck

Peter
