My hotel:
Terra Linda....nice place (as Tambo stated) and the free breakfast was good (not continental). the rooms were good but they have key safes and not digital but that was ok. there was a little frig in the room.
what i liked about it was no chicas were allowed in the hotel unescorted. they were experimenting with a happy hour from 4-6 p.m where the chicas can come and sit by the pool. there were usually 3-4 there but no takers so they would leave. vickie the bartender by the pool was an excellent host and received cudos from all the guys.
the steak and sirloin restaurant was great with their wide variety of food and specials every night. the wait staff was very nice and they even spoke some english.
the maids cleaned your room every day and they left a cart full of extras in the hallways if you need something extra (towels, ash trays, blankets, etc.). the location is great and near to rocky's, bailey's and the other food places. there is a little playero two doors down from the hotel to stock up on water and other things you needed.
Nightlife
it seemed very crowded everywhere at night. classicos, rumba, el flow, sosua life were all overflowing with people. i'm not sure whether it had to do with it being june but in all my trips sosua it was never like this. played a few hands of poker at the sosua bay casino (is that it's name ? ).
took a trip over to caberete one night and had less crowded fun at their bars on the beach.
Weather
hot , hot and more hot !!! i carried a towel everyday to wipe the sweat off. when i hear dominicans complaining of being hot, you know it's hot !!

so there is it short and sweet. my 17th trip !!!

Was Terra Linda busy? I stayed there in March and it was 10% occupied, if that. It made for a very quiet and enjoyable stay.
Happy hour with chicas by the pool! - will this work?

From what I hear the Terra Linda is averaging approximately 50% occupancy. It always seems fairly busy, but also calm and low-keyed at the same time, when I walk by.

Also from what I hear and have observed, pool-side happy-hour by the pool would work nicely. It really is a lovely place.

there were NY Department of Sanitation workers there, about 10-15 guys and some cops. it seem like the hotel was about half full. the happy hour thing wasn't catching on as most guys just kinda stared at them. people were saying they were chicas from the NG hotel.
but it was very quiet and most enjoyable....

Kyle-any photos of the place so we can see where you stayed?

Terra Linda is located a little ways from Rocky's, next to Casa Valeria which is next to New Garden if you are familiar with Dr. Rosen. for some reason i can't post my photos in the media gallery. i'll keep trying.

i was quoted a different price that what some people there paid. i paid 70 per night and some said if you press them you can get 55 a night. considering the free breakfast, hardly any moto noise at night, no stray chicas by the pool, the nice restaurant and they clean your room everyday, plasma tv and the easy walk to nightlife, beach and food, it was worth it. plus there is a small but very stocked playero about 50 feet away for those items like water, etc. there is a small frig in the room BTW.
terra linda has that all inclusive feel to it becuase the only people around during the day are the hotel guests and workers. very relaxed atmosphere.....
