Calling DR from UK with calling card - problem

I seem to be having a problem calling the DR from the UK with one of those international calling cards.

I type in the number and it says that I need to "include the full UK calling code".

The number I was trying to ring (I've tried about 4 different ones in case the number was wrong on the website) was: 8095865614.

So I tried:-
00 1 809 586 5614 - didn't work
00 809 586 5614 - no luck
1 809 586 5614 - no luck
0 1 809 586 5614 - no luck
00 1 09 586 5614 - no luck

I rang up the card help line to make sure the card was activated correctly, etc, and it was and I used a couple of 'calling abroad' websites to find out the numbers and the 00 and the 1 are the numbers I was given, although from three different websites I recieved two different variations; 00+1 and 00 (no 1).

Really confused and any help would be useful - I'm sure I'm just overlooking an obvious answer.

Do NOT dial 00809 or 011809 ... it WILL NOT go to the DR.

You can either dial 001 809 or 1 809 depending on where the card provider's switch is located. If the card service is provided by the North American operator with UK access number, you would dial 1809. If the card service is operated by European or UK provider, you would dial 001809.

a lot of times calls won't go trough using some phonecards. wheen callhappened to me many times when you try a direct calls finally get trough, they can be noisy not clear, have to raise your voice etc...
try this site, it was proposed at another thread here I tried it and can't really complain
