as someone who has lived in NYC and now currently reside in santiago. i get alot of people telling me that when its hot here its the worst. i beg to differ i say the summer time in NYC is worst than here. its 10 times more humid and you can barely walk a step without sweating up a storm in those 90 degree and up days.

Agreed..... Philadelphia is no better.... worst humidity I have ever experienced.

How the early pioneers suffered it astounds me.

On that note, do you know that cane chairs.... you know, open weave seating on chairs.... were created to allow the breeze/air to cool one's "bottom" on hot days.

Ladies reverted to their "shift" all day and chose those chairs for the draught/draft.

Men in high collars and ties...... whew!! Waistcoats....???

Eyebrows lost their purpose...overwhelmed !!

Boston is the same.........It can get pretty sticky........

You are right, but not for as long as DC, Phila.... think about Raleigh and points south where the explorers first hit the shore....

Bugs, heat, moisture..... it killed most of them at first
