Obviously, Spain would provide the fewest obstacles from a language standpoint, and I know there are a lot of Dominicans living and working there, although you may not be interested in the kind of work many of them are doing.

Silly me. Obviously you also speak English. Language aside, I don't know that any particular country offers more opportunity. Germany has historically been extremely liberal in taking in foreigners, but they have paid a price for that and I think they are tightening up.

Pedropablo needs a resident visa, so let's see for which one he qualified first.

OK. so already target Switzerland. Good place to live many Dominicans live there....
Go to your local consulate and apply for resident card for you and your family, don't make the mistake to fly over there because you are an American and stay illegally.
Anybody trying to live in a different country will need to file for a resident permit, no because you are American have the right to live wherever you want.

There are no jobs in Europe, no matter what you are prepared to do. You would be crazy to go anywhere in Europe at the moment. All over Europe you have Europeans crossing borders to find dish washing work for the season which most are not finding. To fly to Europe in the hope of finding work would be a massive mistake, give it a few years and see if any change has taken place, I doubt it though. Europe has destroyed itself by opening the doors, now all of Europe has the problems that were limited to the poorer countries before.

That is a chilling thought for the Republic, I doubt this will ever be allowed to happen thankfully.

Actually I use to spend a lot of time in Switzerland. I also Live in Madrid. After waisting my time as a waitress for a few years in Madrid I started my Job as an escort in Suisse. I earn a lot of money, I don't dislike my clients. I have also worked in Italia, Austria, Ireland, Barcelona, New England ( 1month). My family, of course, doesn't know it. From time to time I come back to Sabaneta and Santo Domingo. I love my life and enjoy a lot. This is just what I want to do. My nature and my character fit well to my
    Job.
