Despite all the advice on this forum, we hired a car and had no trouble. We were lucky enough to have 8 full days here.
We spent a great time in Cabarete, soaking up the atmosphere, especially along the beachfront restaurants in the evenings, multicoloured palm trees and lanterns, fire eaters, singers. One night.
Drove from Cabarate to Rancho Baiguate - scenery to make you cry, so beautiful - for rafting and canyoning (incredible experiences!) - two nights.
a night in cabarete to rest (we needed it!) one night.
then a long drive to Las Galeras stopping at all the gorgeous beaches along the way, and there are a few, snorkelling etc..one night
boat to Playa Rincon to spend the morning and lunch, isolated, stunning; then to Terrenas.
funky resort,
to Playa Bonita (a dream)
overnight there for two nights (too beautiful to leave)
then back to Cabarete to rest up before driving to Imbert to the 27 falls for our amazing last day in this beautiful, beautiful country.
