    Default Leptospirosis

Some folks had posted about being sick with flu like symptoms.
I know, personally, of four cases including my 74 year old dad.
Its lasted almost two weeks and he's finally doing much better.

I came across an article about an Leptosipirosis & Dengue outbreak in DR and thought perhaps this is what's been going around.

Malaria is only carried by the female Anopheles mosquito Anopheles - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It has been mostly eliminated in sub tropical America and Europe by the recognition that treatment of Malaria was far costlier than the elimination of the mosquitoes.

    Read this:

I had lepto in 2006. Survived it by a miracle and maybe because it was caught in time.

Key West is fighting a dengue outbreak. The DR, because of piled up garbage and refuse, flooded out areas and mud all over is an ideal place for rats to leave their urine and heces, which are highly contaminating and the source of leptospiriosis.

All the poor neighborhoods in the states have the same problems...

The problem is identifying the right thing in time to apply the remedy, and that means good lab work and smart doctors..who know what to look for.
