yessss... it's about dogs again, but DR-related, that is for sure...
We had an officially recognised kennel by FCI (federation Canino international) in Belgium for years...
When we decided to move we contacted FCI on how to transfer our kennel-name (De Booischothoeve) from Belgium to the DR... they told us to have our name scratched at FCI Belgium, and to renew it in the DR... seems simple enough...
For a year now, we have tried contacting FCI here, but no luck... the person who was in charge, was sick, and sadly enough died a couple of months back... We contacted FCI Puerto Rico, and were told a new person here was in charge, and they gave us the phone-numbers...
We had to try calling her about 50 times, but in the end got a hold of her... she was very nice, and gave us a lot of explanations, which is where the craziness starts...:bunny:
In order for our pups to get pedigrees... we have to go to SD with all parents, all pups, and the official pedigrees proving their breed for at least 3 generations...
The generations is no problem, how far back do you want to go??? 10 generations, 12???... you name it and we can show it...
But they told us they would have to re-evaluate the dogs... please!!!... let us get serious... who in hell is going to re-evaluate an australian shepherd over here... as far as we know, there is only one other one on the island, brought over by its American family when they moved...
The Malinois have pedigrees like they have never seen over here... and are DNA-tested... and they are going to decide whether their champion-pedigrees are real, and that they are real Malinois???
Well, yes, the system is what the system is... and we will play along...
Am talking to Caribe Tours to rent a bus... 2 owners and 23 dogs... should be an interesting trip...:bunny::bunny::bunny:
(you guys think I could stop at Ikea on the way back and buy some meatballs???... I could put the puppies in the kids play-area... lol)
