I have worries like all foreingers of driving in the DR but since it looks more and more likely that I will be making the move I need to jump in the pool sometime. I would be driving to Tenares, Cabarete and Jarabacoa. Another thing is that I will be arriving at night on that 8:30 AA flight from MIA. I am thinking of taking a taxi to the hotel and then one back to STI the next morning to get the rental. Or will this lose the flight connection to my rental and make it impossible
Then there is the issue of having enough insurance to keep you out of jail if there is an accident. I don't want to pay a 25% premium if I have to, which excludes Alamo/National apparently. Oh and of course keeping people from copying your credit cards. It appears that I can book a rental at STI thru Orbitz.
