Hola All,
Does anyone have any first had experience with dental care ie. cleaning, scaling, polishing, fillings etc.
Also eye lasik or is it even heard of down there.
Any and all input would be appreciated.
Thanx Capt
Scaling done in a medical spa in Santiago by a great periodontist: RD$18,000
Replacing old fillings: RD$1,200 each.
For a molar crown, their specialist asked for US$1,000, or $850 for porcelain fused to metal. Needless to say, I'm getting it done in Sosua for $330.
You have. There are MANY very credible optometry offices.out of curiosity... how much for implants?
As an optometrist by training, I have not been impressed by the services offered here... but I may have seen the wrong places...

One has to be careful selecting both physicians and facilities here.I know that there are some excellent doctors in DR, but my mother-in-law [Santo Domingo] refused to have her cataract surgery there after some pretty bad results that some of her relatives had. She came and had them done on Long Island.

I don't know how much they charge for an implant. I know that in the US the cost is US$2,500 (just for the implant, the crown is separate).
I had Lasik done in the US several years ago. I will need to have it redone but would NOT do it here or in any developing country. The Lasik machines are expensive and you are not going to find state-of-the-art Lasik treatments here.
im confused what are implants for eyes ? or was that two different things
