Juan Dolio--inexpensive hotels for a few days
depends if you want AI or not. If kids are visiting will be cheaper not as they would need day pass.
In order of cost with cheapest first
1. Fior di loto - old Juan dolio from 10 US$ a night - no aircon and no pool
2. Albatros - apart hotel on beach with pool but charges a small fee for non residents to enter
3. Esmerelda - lovely boutique hotel on beach with pool
4. Plaza real apart hotel not on beach but with pool

the best place in juan dolio for the money is Paraiso Caribe, a beach front property very clean. rates goes from 40dlls.
Plaza Real is ok too. but lot of construction and dirt in front of the hotel.

to help a little bit the hotel. their rooms are even much better than the pics show in their page,
Yes forgot about that one as not really a hotel as such - more just apartments as no pool. But who needs a pool as right on the beach and lots of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep. Cosimo the manager is a good guy too - swiss so is very well organised!

Very nice view of beach at $45 a night. Room is excellent. Tranquillo. A very poor internet Wi-Fi service must be purchased at a market across the street for $20 a week. SKYPE will not function! Several restaurants are nearby. Prices are about 1/3 higher than the North Coast.

On the Boulevard, approximately across the street from the ferritaria. Fast , accurate, new equipment, and great service. 9am--9pm. Contrary,the 2 worst internet cafes in my life were discovered at Chocolates and another to the West in a small mall.

Fior de Loto--the owner is away, the employes ''play''!
Terrible service, refusal to make normal repairs, failure to change towels and sheets, and the young guy that is in charge of the internet ''plays stupid'', allows no connections, then refers you to ''his friend'' for expensive repairs. Lastly, they refused to give room receipts, then demanded a weeks payment, after I paid them daily for 7 days! I refused. They relented. Obviously, a scam!
