Great site with an overabundance of information, so much so, you can get lost in here. The owners of this site should be commended, as I have never seen a site like it. Is this owned by a group, or is it private? Totally awesome, and thanks for the opportunity to be apart of it. My wife and I are looking for a sun location to spend our 2 week yearly vacation and are considering the Dominican Republic. Came across this site in doing a search. We presently reside in the United States, and we have traveled to Aruba, St. Maartens, Curacao, and Mexico. Looking forward to adding the Dominican Republic as our next destination.

Thanks woofsback!. That is always the way it is, having to go back to reality. Who owns this site as I have never came across a site with so much information about everything, and I do mean everything pertaining to a country?

I own it, but I won't admit it.

Actually, you can find a lot to do here. It is a big place so you do not feel you are on a tiny island. No such thing as "island fever" here. Mountains are great, jungles, forests, valleys...whole nine yards...

So do come and tell us what you like to do and wl'll help point you in the right direction...

Thank you Hillbilly, and if you are the actual owner, congratulations on the finest site of this type I have ever came across, as it is a wikipedia of information. My wife and I are beach bums from the midwest in the United States, so we come to a warm weather destination during usually January or February for a two or three week vacation, that mainly is about enjoying the warm ocean waters, sitting in the hot sun on the beach during the day enjoying pina coladas, massages, and the things that are offered on the beach in a resort location. We also enjoy experiencing the culture of the area we are in, blending in with the local people as much as possible, such as eating at small local restaurants, enjoying beers/drinks in these same types of settings. We stay totally away from tourist zones.
